National Salvage & Service Corporation, an industry leader working in states across the nation, is hiring a Cost Accountant. This role is a full-time position working at our corporate headquarters in Bloomington, IN. The position is results-oriented and requires excellent organizational and analytical skills. The successful candidate would analyze expenditures and create reports to advise how to improve efficiencies and reduce financial waste.

DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze data collected logging a detail record of results
• Journal entries, as directed
• Define various products and operational costs
• Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors affecting profitability of products and services
• Assist in audits and general ledger preparation
• Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements
• Ad-hock projects and analysis
• Other transactional entry, review and/or reconciliations, as directed

POSITION-SPECIFIC COMPETENTCIES

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• One (1) to two (2) years general ledger accounting experience
• Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Work, Power Point)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
• Collaboration and teamwork which is essential to the role
