National Salvage & Service has an opening for a mechanic at our Birmingham, Alabama, facility. Experience working on diesel trucks or heavy equipment is required, must be skilled in hydraulics. Welding experience is preferred. At National, our focus is on quality, precision and doing things the right way. DUTIES, TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform diagnostics and repair of machinery.
• Maintain and implement preventive maintenance.
• Plan and implement machine modifications and upgrades
• Complete daily paperwork.

POSITION-SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

• Mechanical knowledge on heavy equipment to make repairs (change hydraulic hose, grease and lube, safety walk around inspection).
• You must successfully pass a background screen and pre-employment drug screen.
• Must be able to climb and able to lift 50 pounds.

• Experience working on trucks/trailers/heavy equipment.
